DIY HVAC Valve Replacement Success: Easy & Affordable

I was sceptical at firts but decided to go for it and learn something new for $21. Never replaced these valves on 20 year old hvac until last night when I received the tool. It was easy straight forward procedure. By the way, there is a review of broken lever and ball valve not closing inside of the tool. Well, the shaft has to be extracted with the schrader valve all the way out before closing the lever. If you force it then it will break. Caps that came with the tool have o rings and fir perfectly on the AC. Schrader valves as well fit and perform as described on my old Lennox AC.

Affordable DIY HVAC Tool Kit - Saves Money & Empowers Homeowners

You can spend way more for a tool like this, but this one is well designed and constructed and works. Im just amazed how all of this is included. Tool, caps with O rings and new valve cores.
Like all these tools, the actual removal of the core is a little tricky. You cant see when/if its backed out and on the shaft. At best, you need to pay attention to the feel of the core being out of the port threads by the feel it makes as it makes a complete turn with a little pressure on it. Youll feel it. Just be light handed. It took me three time until it showed up, after closing the ball valve. For about $20, youll save hundreds on the first use from a service call from a local HVAC shop. Im sure they hate tools like this that empower DIY home owners.

DIY AC Repair Success: Valve Core Remover Key to Success

With the crazy economy we find ourselves, my son and I ended up doing our own AC repair. We replaced our A-Coil and outside condenser unit with all the filters, fittings, etc. We also decided to use the solder with flux method as opposed to the silver rod brazing method. We were successful just before the hot muggy weather overtook our part of the country. Our system continues to work well and these valve core remover was a required component to do both the pressure test and vacuum test before we charged our system.

My husband got it to fix our central air unit. The valve stem was messed up. We called several people and they wanted 300.00 to come and fix it. So we fixed it with 25.00. Thank you.
